Welcome to Primary 7 in 2011!
A new term for the new year; Primary 7s are already having so much fun finding out about life in Tropical Rainforests around the world. Our classrooms are looking so colourful and we are all looking forward to our parents, grandparents and family friends having the chance to see them during our Open Afternoon soon.
As well as Rainforests, Primary 7s are also working on new topics in Science and French. In Science we are experimenting with Kitchen Chemistry and in French we are studying lifestyles and making a giant French scrapbook where we can show off our fabulous knowledge and vocabulary skills!
This is a term for hard work - we can't believe that we will be moving on to secondary school THIS year now! Eek!

Termly Update - Term 2
Primary 7 have had a very successful first term. They have been enjoying the World War II topic and lots have taken part in events within and outwith school.
This next term Primary 7 will be continuing work on World War II, focusing more on the Holocaust as well as the events which led to the end of the war. Both classes will be going to the Theatre Royal in November to see a production of the novel Carrie's War which they have enjoyed reading in class. Everyone is looking forward to the trip to Scotland Street School and the People's Palace as well.
In other news, lots of work will be going into our Christmas Concert this term, with Primary 7 focusing on songs from the Naughties! The classes have rewritten some popular songs from The Charts and given them a Christmassy feel!
A super term lies a head for Primary 7 so be sure to check back on our blog for updates on our adventures!

Termly Update: September 2010
The P7s are really excited about their final year in Bearsden Primary School and want to make it their best year yet!
Topic The topic this term is WWII. The classes will be using Reciprocal Reading skills to enjoy the book 'Carrie's War' by Nina Bawden. An exciting theatre trip has also been planned to see a production of Carrie's War in Glasgow in November. As part of the WWII topic, P7's RME will be looking at Judaism and Jewish Holocaust.
In Music, the P7s are also going to script, act and film their own music video based on classic WWII songs.
So far we have looked at the events leading up to the start of WWII, Hitler's background, 1939 and 1940. We have been particularly enjoying researching evacuation and have made our very own gas masks and boxes as well as ID cards and name tags!
PE Both classes will have PE on Fridays, Room 19 will have an extra PE session on Wednesdays and Room 20 on Mondays.
Election Our House Captain elections were a great success again this year, with some really fantastic election speeches. Well done to our new House Captains and Vice Captains and good luck for the year ahead!
Assembly As ambassadors for the rest of the school, all P7s are expected to wear full uniform, shirt and tie for Friday assemblies.
We are going to have a great year in Primary 7 and we are all very much looking forward to all of the exciting things that we will be taking part in. We hope to do our very best and end the year ready for our move to secondary school!
